Doctor of Chiropractic are well educated. Chiropractic education and medical education are similar in many respects and different in others because chiropractors do not prescribe drugs or perform surgery, and medical doctors do not correct vertebral subluxations. A science bachelor’s degree is required to enter in a chiropractic school. After graduating with a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree (which can take 4-5 years), each candidate passes the demanding four-part National Board Examinations. Then, doctors apply to a governmental or professional licensing board and must pass a more difficult test before being granted the privilege to practice. A chiropractor’s education, however, never ends. In Florida, Chiropractic Physicians is obligated to complete regular postgraduate instruction for bi-annual license renewal to stay current on the latest research and adjustment techniques

Chiropractors base their care on the detection correction and prevention of vertebral subluxations (spinal misalignments). We use specific spinal adjustments to correct the spine, to improve nervous system functions and reduce nerve interference. Osteopaths use drugs, surgery, and other traditional medical therapies and only occasionally use manipulative procedures.

A chiropractic adjustment is the art of using a specific light force in a precise direction, applied to a joint that is subluxated (out of place), “locked up,” or not moving properly. The adjustment is a safe and natural procedure that helps eliminate interference to the nervous system, improving spinal function, overall health and reduces pain and inflammation. Even though adjustments do not always produce a sound the known “popping” sound is caused by gas rushing in to fill the partial vacuum created when the joints are slightly separated. This sound is painless and totally harmless.

Any time is a good time for a better functioning nerve system. There is multiple adjusting that can be used depending on the patient’s size, trimester they are in, age and condition of health. Chiropractic care helps Pregnant mothers with pregnancy discomforts, like neck pain, headaches, sciatica, improve their pregnancy and even make the delivery easier for themselves and their

baby. Also, certain chiropractic techniques can be used to help properly position the baby for delivery and is well recommended by doulas.

In fact, Chiropractors’ malpractice premiums are a small fraction of those for medical doctors.

We accept government insurance in most of our locations, however, we’re not allowed to extend a promotional offer for an evaluation to patients with Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, etc. We can offer a free appointment to come see the office and speak with the doctor to confirm if we can help your condition and to see what your coverage includes and how much an evaluation would cost. Yes! Conditions like muscle spasms, scar tissue formation, bad posture, inflammation and compensation of the body are some of the causes of pain after surgery. In addition, it has been found that more than half of those who had spinal surgery discover a return of their original symptoms months or years later and which is also known as the “failed back surgery syndrome.” Advanced Physical Medicine can help prevent repeated back surgeries and reduce the post-surgical pain. In fact we have been able to assist patient avoiding back surgery in the first place!

Not only the chiropractic adjustments but the physiotherapies and medical treatment recommended to each patient are tailored to the patient based on their condition, overall musculoskeletal health and their goals. Yes! To benefit our patients we take x-rays in our office the same day, no wait and no lines. Is important to take and read X-rays to reveal the underlying disease processes and disorders of the

spine such as spinal deterioration, arthritis of the spine, abnormal development, bone spurs, disc disorders, tumors and spinal curvature to better understand and assist our patients.

We say healing begins on the first visit of a patient. After filling out the new patient form the patient will go with either the doctor or the case manager who will obtain a full health history and details on the chief complaints. Then, based on the intake doctor will perform a physical orthopedic, neurological and muscular exam to evaluate what type of condition patient may have. The doctor may prescribe further testing like x-rays, MRI or even blood test to further asses the condition. If the patient has recently perform the ordered test, the doctor may not need to repeat it. Finally, the patient may receive some palliative (pain relief) therapy subject to doctor’s recommendation. A review of findings and recommendations can be done as soon as the next day.

Since the doctor is going to know as much as he/she can about you and your condition is important to bring any MRI’s, x-rays, blood test and any medical records pertaining your condition.
